The International Institute for Religious Freedom (Vancouver) (IIRF(V)) formed in 2021 to be the North American branch of the International Institute for Religious Freedom. We seek to bring together researchers for collaborative projects to produce timely and academic publications. Being part of the IIRF connects us to a global network of researchers.

I have been the Executive Editor of the IIRF’s flagship publication, the International Journal for Religious Freedom, since 2019. I therefore see the broad array of research being undertaken around the world. It is one thing to read a dispassionate report; it is another entirely to read an article by an academic who is a member of a persecuted religious minority in places like Myanmar, Nigeria or Pakistan.

As this institute is located at a university, we seek to encourage and mentor the next generation of advocates who will take up the mantle of the fundamental human right of religious freedom.
